Can't recommend highly enough for a quick layover
Spacious room, friendly staff, with an excellent breakfast that included hot and tasty options and convenient, especially with the off-site car park for easy access.
Nothing to improve.

Enjoyable stay with good vibes
We had a good time at this place! The room was clean and decent for three of us. We loved the bar area, but the noise from some drunk guys downstairs was a bit annoying after midnight. The bathroom was practical, and you can't beat the price for a night. A solid choice for a budget stay!

Staying here was enjoyable, especially with friendly staff that provided dog biscuits upon our arrival. The location is convenient, close to shops and a park—ideal for early morning walks. the noise from the bar was quite loud through the thin walls, which could be disturbing. while the room was generally clean, it lacked some decorative care, but the breakfast, including excellent poached eggs, was a highlight.

Clean rooms with friendly staff and great breakfast. Noise from live music late at night was annoying. Pool table and dart boards available in the pub area.

would not hesitate to return there
The single room is small but cozy, with a flat-screen TV, kettle, and free toiletries. Shower was good and the bathroom, while needing a bit of fixing, was clean. Plenty of tea and coffee options available. The pub downstairs has a fun atmosphere with darts and pool. Staff were super friendly and welcoming.

I spent one night at Ambrose, which turned out to be a mixed experience. The room was clean, which was a big plus. I had a comfortable bed with plenty of tea and coffee available. Breakfast was included, and I enjoyed the variety with a lovely full English. the live music from the pub was quite loud and went on until midnight, making it hard to relax. The shower in my room had mold on the head, which was not pleasant. The check-in process was a bit unorganized, and the staff could have been more helpful initially. Accessing the rooms through the pub made it feel a little cramped. Despite the noise and minor cleanliness issues, the overall vibe was inviting and friendly. I appreciated the affordable rates and the community atmosphere.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel after visiting the South Lakes Zoo, and it was so nice to have a communal fridge for our drinks! There’s a cozy lounge perfect for unwinding with friends. The outdoor terrace is a great spot to relax on warm evenings. The only downside was a bit of noise from the nearby street, but it really didn’t spoil our time. 😊

I absolutely adored the cozy bar area's warm decor. It felt like a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscent of my grandmother's living room, making it a perfect spot to relax with friends.
Maybe quieter music after midnight would help.

comfortable stay but limited on-site amenities
The location near shops provided convenience for our needs. The cleanliness of the room was impressive and added to our comfort. Having a communal fridge in the hallway was a thoughtful touch for staying cool during warm nights.
The hotel lacked some amenities that could have enhanced our stay.

Fantastic Staff and Great Value
I had a lovely stay in a spacious family room with plenty of tea and coffee-making facilities, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, promptly serving a tasty breakfast with a variety of options. I did find the noise from live music on the weekends a bit disruptive to my rest.
